USB Hub
1 - LC USB Hub w/ 7 ports
These informations are provided “AS IS” and without any warranty of any kind.
This module provides an 7-port USB 2.0 Hi-Speed HUB.
When using an external power supply, each downstream port supports up to 2 A, but the total current will still be limited by the 5.5*2.1 barrel connector.
Those connectors should generally not exceed a maximum of 3 A, otherwise they overheat and cause damage.
Without an external power supply, the total current will be limited to 500 mA.
Pros
- PCB and components seem to be good quality, works flawlessly
- Compact board design makes it a suitable for DIN Rail mounting
- Decent price-performance ratio
Cons
- External power supply; using KF129 or a plugin screw terminal would have been a better choice, especially when mounting on a DIN Rail, but also to support more current in general
- If mounted on DIN Rail: A USB Type B Socket would provide more stability than Micro USB

Case / Mounting / DIN-Rail
3D Printed Case
I’ve designed a DIN-Rail mountable case for this board, it will soon be available on eBay.de
As most of my cases for electronic devices, it has been printed using insulating and flame-retardant (UL 94 HB) DuraPro ABS filament from Extrudr.
STL Files for 3D Printing
The .stl files for the DIN-Rail case will soon be available on Cults3D.com
2 - LC Isolating USB Hub w/ 4 ports
These informations are provided “AS IS” and without any warranty of any kind.
This module provides a layer of isolation for both USB power and data lines, as well as a 4-port USB 2.0 Full-Speed HUB.
When using an external power supply for the downstream USB ports, that PSU should not be identical to the one powering the hardware on the upstream USB port, otherwise it voids the power isolation.
The external power supply terminal does not have any markings; the input closer to the USB Type A ports is GND, the other one +5V.
Without external power, the module forwards a maximum of 400 mA through the two DC-DC Isolators. This should not be an issue when connecting USB Serial converters, but one should keep that in mind for USB Relays and other more power hungry devices.
Also, as the HUB interface is implemented on the side of the the downstream USB ports, so those are not isolated against each other.
Pros
- Isolation for both power and data lines
- PCB and components seem to be pretty good quality, works flawlessly
- USB Type B Socket and its compact board design make it a good choice for DIN Rail mounting
- Decent price-performance ratio
Cons
- Maximum data rate is limited to 12 Mbps
- Using KF129 or a vertical plugin screw terminal would have been a better choice for the external power supply, especially when mounting on a DIN Rail
